Erosion Drawings

The Erosion Drawings are a series of intricate graphite drawings applied directly onto a gallery space's drywall.

They are created under a condition which anticipates imminent removal.

The process of creating something which cannot be kept is a meditative practice for me as the artist. Photographs chosen depict an interaction that I had with physical place & the process of drawing evokes a visceral remembering of that interaction.

In recreating a memory upon temporally impermanent space, I remind myself that memory is not immune to entropy.

This series is intended to remind the viewer that all things must pass.

It is also a commentary on the brutalist nature of whitewall gallery settings & toys with the absurdity of display.
